About Magheroarty

Magheroarty is a long, sandy north-facing beach in remote north-west Donegal, near the village of Falcarragh. Tory Island sits offshore. The beach is one of the more reliable surf spots in this corner of the country - exposed enough to catch Atlantic swell, but the bay geometry keeps it surfable on bigger days than the most open Donegal spots.

The beach catches W to N swells and works on S offshore winds. There's a surf school in the area and a regular local crew, but you're a long drive from Bundoran or anywhere else with infrastructure - this is north-west Donegal at its most remote.
