About Belderra Strand
Belderra Strand is an exposed Atlantic beach on the north Mayo coast, between the Mullet peninsula and the cliff coast east toward Ballycastle. It catches plenty of swell and is one of the quieter surf spots in the country simply by virtue of being far from anywhere.
The beach works on W to NW swells with E to SE offshore winds. Mid tide is best. The road in is narrow and the beach itself is undeveloped - this is north Mayo at its quietest.
