About Carrownisky
Carrownisky (sometimes spelled Carrowniskey) is a long, sandy west-facing beach a short drive south of Louisburgh in south Mayo. It catches plenty of swell off the Atlantic and offers a quieter alternative to the busier south Sligo and north Mayo beaches.
The beach runs multiple peaks along its length. Mid tide is typically the sweet spot, but the strand handles most tide states. There's not much in the way of facilities at the beach itself - bring everything with you - which is part of the charm.
