About Ownahincha

Ownahincha is a sandy south-facing beach a short drive from Rosscarbery in west Cork. It sits beside the more exposed Long Strand but is more sheltered and more forgiving - a popular pick for beginners and families on smaller summer S swells.

The beach catches S to SW swells and works on N offshore winds. Mid tide is the sweet spot. There's a holiday park and caravan area behind the beach, which makes it busy in summer but ensures plenty of parking.
