About Inch Reef

Inch Reef is a long left-hand reef break sitting offshore from Inch Strand on the Dingle peninsula. When a clean S to SW swell stacks up with a long period, the reef peels along the rock shelf in a way the beginner-friendly beach can't.

The wave needs 1m+ of swell, 11s+ period and a N offshore wind. Mid tide is best. It's not a learning wave - rocks on the inside, currents at the river mouth. Walk out via the strand from Inch village; ask local crews about access lines before you paddle out for the first time.
