About Doughmore

Doughmore is a long, remote west-facing beach at Doonbeg in south-west Clare. It catches plenty of Atlantic swell and is one of the quieter Clare beaches simply because of its distance from the busy Lahinch / Liscannor lineups. Multiple peaks shift along the strand.

The beach works on W swells with E offshore winds. Mid tide is the sweet spot. The Trump International Golf Links sits behind the beach (controversial dune-protection plans have been a local talking point) but the beach itself is public and the surf is unaffected.
