About Doolin Point

Doolin Point is a right-hand reef point break sitting just north of Doolin harbour, in the same swell zone as Crab Island and Aileen's. When the conditions line up, it produces long, walling rights that run along the reef shelf.

The point likes a W swell with a long period and a clean E to NE offshore wind. Mid tide is the sweet spot; the reef gets shallow and dangerous on the low. Doolin itself is a tourist hub - the gateway to the Cliffs of Moher boat trips - so parking and food are easy, but the lineup needs respect and the reef demands knowledge.
