About Trá Bhuí

Trá Bhuí - literally Yellow Strand - is a sheltered west-facing beach a short drive from Strandhill in north Sligo. It's a quieter, less crowded alternative to its famous neighbour, and the sheltered geometry of the bay keeps it surfable on windy days that blow out Strandhill.

The beach works on NW swells with E to SE offshore winds. The wave disappears at low tide - mid to high is the working window. Limited parking and no facilities; this is one for locals and those willing to look slightly off the obvious Sligo lineup.
