Lahinch Strand Surf Forecast
About Lahinch Strand
Lahinch Strand is the main beach at Lahinch - the long sandy crescent running from the promenade south toward the reef. It's where surf schools take beginners, where the local crew warm up, and where most people first experience Irish surfing.
The Strand works on W to NW swells with E offshore winds. The wave is forgiving on most tides but the sandbars and peaks shift constantly. The Strand and the wider Lahinch entry on this site cover slightly different parts of the same beach; if you're looking for surf-school waves and the main promenade lineup, this is the right page.
Hazards & Notes
- Busy with surf schools and beginners - bring patience
- Watch the rocks on exit at the reef end
- Avoid exiting at high tide - rocks closer to shore
- Cold North Atlantic water year-round
