Tide predictions: FES2014 — Generated using AVISO+ Products. Modelled offshore predictions from the FES2014 global tide model — indicative only, not for navigation. Nearshore and harbour tides can differ from the open-coast model. Heights here are relative to model mean sea level, not chart datum. The Bristol Channel and the Severn in particular amplify and lag strongly over short distances. Checked against observed sea level from the IOC Sea Level Station Monitoring Facility (Flanders Marine Institute and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission; UK gauges operated by the UK national tide gauge network), pooled over two 14-day windows in March and September 2026. Across the 16 spots with a curve the median timing difference is 6 to 16 minutes, and accuracy is weaker around neap tides. Where a spot could only be checked against a gauge too far away for its heights to be verified, its page says so. Times are United Kingdom local time.
