About Brittas Bay

Brittas Bay is a 5 km arc of dune-backed sand on the east coast of Wicklow, about an hour south of Dublin. It's the most accessible surf spot for anyone living in the capital and the reliable east-coast beach when Irish Sea storms deliver clean SE swell.

Like all east-coast spots, Brittas is less consistent than the Atlantic west - but when it works, it works for beginners and intermediates alike. Mellow peaks shift along the beach, the bottom is sandy and forgiving, and there's plenty of room to spread out. Two car parks (North and South) give beach access.
